Get Ready For Flood research briefs

Inner Sydney Voice’s Social Housing Flood Resilience Project – also known as “Get Ready for Flood” – worked with social housing tenants and their Community Housing Providers (CHPs) in the Nepean-Hawkesbury floodplain. The project helped tenants become aware of flood risks to their homes and prepare for emergencies.

Throughout Get Ready for Flood, we collaborated with researchers from the University of Sydney to develop, implement and evaluate the project. At the end of the project, the researchers created a series of briefing papers.

The Get Ready for Flood briefing papers provide a best practice model for disaster preparedness projects with vulnerable communities. The briefing papers cover all key elements of project design, implementation and outcomes. Each briefing paper reflects a stakeholder group or aspect of the project.
