NSW Health has confirmed there’s a cluster of COVID cases in three social housing towers in Redfern, with 12 people testing positive to the virus. The public housing towers are home to more than 630 people.

Notices have been posted under residents’ doors telling them there has been an outbreak of COVID cases in the buildings over the past fortnight. All residents have been classed as casual contacts and instructed to get tested and isolate inside their units until they receive a negative result.

Meanwhile, a testing tent has been erected onsite. So far, 300-or so residents have been tested. More residents will be tested in the coming days. Confirmed cases and close contacts have  the option of staying in special health accommodation if they can’t isolate safely in their apartment.
