Aged care in Australia has been challenging politicians and decision-makers for many decades. Reviews and reforms have dominated and older people, their Carers and their providers have had to continue to manage the impact of the reforms. Funded by the Federal Government as a sector support service Inner Sydney Voice works with over 200 providers delivering care and support to thousands of older people eligible for the CHSP program.
ISV’s role is to work with our funder, other sector support providers and build a stronger and supported regional provider market.
The CHSP Sector Support & Development Officer (SSDO) offers support to Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services, primarily serving Eastern Sydney, including the City of Sydney, Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, and Bayside (former Botany Council area only). Additionally, the SSDO collaborates with other services to assist CHSP providers throughout New South Wales.

- Promoting and advocating for the CHSP and the government’s aged care reforms.
- Supporting CHSP services through the aged care reform process.
- Assisting CHSP services with collaboration and the exploration of best practices.
- Informing and aiding services in the region to implement program and aged care-related initiatives.
- Assisting in the identification and coordination of relevant service training.
- Researching and reporting important issues to funding bodies.
- Creating promotional material about CHSP-funded service.
Inner Sydney Voice convenes the City of Sydney and Eastern Suburbs Stop Abuse of Older People Collaborative. The Collaborative works to raise awareness to prevent abuse and identify and respond to abuse of older people.
