Sector Support Project Officer

Do you want to make a difference and gain critical sector and community development skills? We're looking for someone to plan, coordinate, and strengthen community organisations in a 21-hour-per-week role. You’ll represent ISV at local networks, engage with communities to develop sustainable services, and build on your experience in the sector.

Position Description
Employment Status: Temporary (up until June 30, 2025) Part time
21 hours per week
Classification: SCHADS Level 4
Reporting to: Sector Support Lead (CHSP)
Relationships: Works closely in collaboration with TEI Sector Support Lead, Executive Officer, Communications Officer and Office Manager

The Organisation
Inner Sydney Voice is the trading name of Inner Sydney Regional Council for Social Development, a regional social development peak organisation established in 1974.
We work with communities across the central, eastern and inner west Sydney region including the local government areas of Bayside, Inner West, Randwick, City of Sydney, Waverley and Woollahra. The Position
Inner Sydney Voice receives funding to plan, coordinate and strengthen diverse community organisations across different sectors including children and families, disability, housing and aged care.
This position is an opportunity to build on your experience in the community sector and gain critical sector and community development skills.
You will play a role in representing ISV at local networks and engaging with communities and organisations to help develop viable and sustainable services, and coordinate projects which strengthen the voice of Inner Sydney communities.

Skills required
1.Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise duties, and maintain detailed records.
2.Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for liaising with network members, guest speakers, and staff. Capability to chair meetings.
3.Networking Skills: Proficiency in building and maintaining professional relationships within various networks.
4.Time Management: Efficiently scheduling and managing time to meet deadlines and attend meetings.
5.Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in documentation, meeting notices, and updates.
6.Knowledge of CRMs, social media and other software such as CANVA.
7.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address issues that arise and find effective solutions.
8.Current Driver’s license.
9.Current Working with Children’s Check.

Duties
1)Represent ISV at agreed community meetings including Neighbourhood Advisory Board meetings, Resident Action Group meetings and service interagencies. Provide feedback on meeting outcomes to the team and help plan responses.
2)Support effective delivery of ISV led network meetings, ensuring meeting notices are sent, minute takers are assigned, and guest speakers are contacted. Maintain communication with network members and keep the network list updated.
3)Support team in ensuring CRM, website and diaries are coordinated and up to date.
4)Provide assistance with planning and delivering sector support activities such as training, reporting, research, and special events
5)Other duties as directed by Sector Support Lead.
6)Ensure Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures are implemented.
7)Ensure risk management compliance in conjunction with other staff.
8)Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
