For the past three years, Inner Sydney Thanks You has celebrated the people at the heart of our communities: the frontline workers who show up every day to support others.
This year, we are inviting managers and team leaders across inner Sydney to nominate one or two frontline staff members to attend what promises to be our most special celebration yet.

Community work is demanding work. It is often emotionally complex, under-recognised and under-resourced. It is also a workforce made up predominantly of women, whose care, skill and commitment form part of the critical social infrastructure that holds our communities together.
Over recent years, community workers have responded to lockdowns, social isolation, loneliness, housing insecurity, rising living costs and increasing demand for support. Through it all, they have continued to show up with compassion, professionalism and care.
Their work changes lives every day, yet it is rarely celebrated.
Inner Sydney Thanks You is our opportunity to change that.
We invite managers to nominate one or two frontline workers from your organisation for a morning dedicated entirely to recognising their contribution. Attendees will enjoy a delicious lunch, the chance to connect with peers from across the sector, and a special session from Horatio O’Shea, returning by popular demand to share practical insights on compassion and sustaining ourselves in caring work.
If someone on your team has gone above and beyond, shown exceptional kindness, resilience, or dedication, or simply embodies the values of community service, we’d love to celebrate them.
