From TEI to CFS: Contract Negotiations, Acquittals, and Accountability

TEI recommissioning: latest news

  • New program name: The TEI program will transition to the Community and Family Support (CFS) program.
  • Recontracting timeline: DCJ intends to invite providers to commence contract negotiations for CFS from end of August / early September 2025.

Acquittals (July–December 2025 extension)

  • TEI services are expected to spend and acquit all TEI funds received for the six-month contract extension period 1 July–31 December 2025 — i.e. by 31 December 2025.
  • At this stage there has been no indication of exceptions; unspent funds may need to be returned. DCJ has been asked to clarify if provisions can be made for any unspent funds.
  • Action: Please speak with your CPO for advice specific to your service.
  • We will share more information as it becomes available.

Annual accountability (2024–2025)

  • Due: on or before 31 October 2025.
  • DCJ encourages providers to submit early via the PACS portal where possible.

Agenda includes

  • Latest news from DCJ regarding TEI and recommissioning

  • Updates on navigating services, mapping, coordination/planning and other projects, and proposed changes to the SCHADS Award
  • Networking and morning tea with colleagues

Demonstrating Impact – Community of Practice

  • The first Demonstrating Impact Community of Practice was held on Tuesday 12 August. Participants helped shape the COP.

Foundational Supports: Community consultations announced

  • NSW Government has announced consultation dates, including Randwick – Monday 15 September, with additional sessions planned across Sydney (Bankstown, Auburn, Liverpool, Parramatta, Chatswood) and more through to November 2025.
  • Consultations are for parents, carers and kin; people with disability; and people working in early childhood education, disability or early intervention services.
  • NSW Government is working with the Australian Government and other states and territories to design foundational supports for children under nine with autism and developmental delay, to assist children with low-to-moderate support needs and their families.
