The NSW Ageing and Disability Commissioner will formally launch two new videos to raise awareness about elder abuse in diverse communities in Eastern Sydney as part of Seniors Week 2023. The videos will run on social media during February 2023. The launch will take place at Kensington Park Community Centre in Kensington.
The launch features performances from members of the ANHF Stanley Hunt Wellness Centre, and the Ethnic Community Services Co-operative‘s Indonesian social group. Both groups participated in the filming of the videos.
An initiative of the City of Sydney and Eastern Sydney Abuse of Older People Collaborative, funded by the Ageing and Disability Commission, the videos will be part of a larger campaign to target culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and raise awareness about Elder Abuse in culturally appropriate and sensitive ways.
